A warm trattoria in the heart of the Zorlu center in Istanbul.  Located on a corner, the design used large full height folding doors to open the restaurant – removing the walls of the space and opening it to the outside.  Inside, warm tile and a stone barfront anchor a series of loose tables and small banquettes.  At the back wall, a large centered hearth is found on the glazed tile wall.  Forged metal hardware rails were installed to hang copper cookware on both sides.  A warm wood ceiling with enameled pendants finishes the room.  The project went through a series of detailed renderings to ensure the construction team overseas understood the final design concept.
